Back to Meeting Minutes Board Members in attendance:January 8, 2008 Meeting Minutes – (D. McDermott) Minutes were reviewed. A motion was made by L. Maliszewki and seconded by R. Beerle
to accept the minutes as submitted. All in attendance were in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report - (B. DiBella) Bob presented the treasurer's report and reviewed the summary and transaction report and stated that the account is in great shape
as of January 31, 2008. A motion was made by A. Caschera and seconded by Y. Mednikov
to accept the treasurer’s report as submitted. All in attendance were in favor. Motion carried.
Spring Tournament – (D. McDermott) – Spring Tournament – (D. McDermott) Coaches packets given to all coaches in attendance. The tournament will be held May 2-4 at the RYSC fields Friday, Saturday and Sunday and at the Mohonasen fields on Saturday. The club is trying to secure 20 sets of lights for the RYSC fields. Coaches need to recruit teams to get at least 4 in each age group.
D. McDermott will email presidents of other clubs to start recruiting teams. The cost for the tournament is $275
for early registration $325 after March 31, 2008. U10 teams are $250 with early registration $275
by March 31, 2008. Discussion was held over the possibility of a discount to clubs that bring a
certain number of teams, further discussion will be held at the tournament committee meeting.
D. McDermott will check with CDYSL as to the number of U12 teams playing 8v8 vs 11v11 and bring back
to the tournament committee.
Travel Team – (D. McDermott) Teams represented at the meeting are all in good shape
however there is still question whether there are enough players for a U12 Boys team. There are a
number of players that did not pay last year and must pay before playing this year. Bob will
continue to email those that still owe from last year. Majority of uniforms have been delivered
to the coaches. U19 boys need to submit uniform orders. U19 girls are all set with uniforms but
they need to register.
Spring Soccer – Flyers have been delivered to Mohonasen and Schalmont school districts and
a number of preschools. Lynn requested more flyers to be delivered to Duanesburg school district.
Online registration has been posted to the website. The cost of registration is $45. Registration
will take place at Columbo Club on March 1st and 8th from 9-12. There will be 10 head coaches each
paid $10 per hour. Head coaches must be 15 years of age or older and will be recruited by Angelo
and Lynn.
Fall Rec Soccer – Registration dates have been scheduled for June 7th and 14th. Dave will
print flyers at Vincy’s and will be distributed to the schools in May. Dave met with Score and
discussed the proposal of a 3 year contract for uniforms. Score will sponsor the spring tournament,
provide giveaways and freeze the price of the uniforms. 3 year contract would also provide equipment
at a low price regardless of quantity.
Old Business - Wednesday nights are still available at Draper. Y. Mednikov would like to
take this practice space and it was determined that there is nothing in the contract
specifying age levels.
New business – Coaches need to provide team manager information to Angela. Club will find
space for the first-aid class considering April 6th at 6:00 pm. Travel pictures set for March 8, 2008
at Front Street from 8-9. Dave will send out the schedule to all of the coaches and it will be posted
online. Next year tryouts may be held in June before the travel season is over. First tryout will be
held before school is out and an additional tryout in August. Club will established coaches before
tryouts are held. Club needs to have better communication with the parents and relies on coaches and
managers to distribute information discussed at meetings. Bob also proposed putting a sign on the road
heading into the field. Terri proposed doing a newsletter at a previous meeting. Bob proposed possibly
make a committee member for communication and pushing the website. A. Caschera discussed bringing the
club to an academy level with the AC Milan academy. He will investigate and bring more details to the
club. Check was given to the club to replace the doors by Ed’s Overhead and doors
With no other topics to be discussed, a motion was made by L. Maliszewski and seconded by B. DiBella
to adjourn the meeting at 9:45pm. All in attendance were in favor. Motion carried.
