Meeting August 8, 2006
Back to Meeting Minutes In Attendance-July 11 Meeting Minutes – (A. Caschera) Minutes were reviewed. Angelo requested a correction be made that 1 kids, not 25, atteneded the Italian Camp. A motion was made by R. Urbano and seconded by B. Hirsch to approve the minutes with the correction. All in attendance were in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report - (B. DiBella) Bob’s presented the treasurer's report and reviewed the summary and transaction report and stated that the account is in good standing.
Rocco recommended that maintenance work be logged and tracked. All in attendance agreed to have Rocco be point person for all maintenance work requests. Starting next year, a log will be kept. A motion was made by D. McDermott and seconded by B. Hirsch to accept the treasurer’s report as submitted. All in attendance were in favor. Motion carried.
Bob also reviewed Spring Rec numbers and discussion was held regarding adding two soda vending machines. Terri’s brother is in the vending machine business. Also discussed was some maintenance work that needs taken care of. All agreed that the restrooms need some work. Tiles are falling off and need to be replaced and piping needs to be aerated via unplugging a vent pipe. Also, keys to both concession stand and both bathroom doors need to be changed. The ice machine is not working properly. The concession stand is too warm and we need to look at improving vitalization in it.
Travel Tryouts – There appears to be some confusion in the U16 & U19 division regarding USAI and RYSC. We need clarification of USAI vs. Rotterdam designation. A recommendation was made to keep Andy’s team at U17 and not moving it up to U19. Also, it was mentioned that Giulio sent his letter of resignation. After some thought, he has decided to stay. The following people have agreed to be coaches: Andy/Giulio for U17 girls; Eugene for U15/U16 girls USAI; Rita for U14 girls at the Club level. The U10 boys will have two teams at Club level and Jean/Doug/Jason will coach U12 boys at the Club level. Joe Lomonaco has agreed to coach the second U12 boys’ team at Club level.
CDSYL – (T. Ward) Terri mentioned that she’ll be attending the AGM for CDYSL meeting and will bring back as many trophy boxes as possible.
Rec Soccer – (D. McDermott) Dave mentioned that the Club has joined S.A.Y. Soccer. He has received referee and coaches’ manuals. Field set up is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th at 9am. Rec Soccer Score will provide free game balls for every Rec coach. Terri recommended that the Club’s referee fees for 5/6 grade be raised from last year to $15 per game and $10 for all other levels, plus provide referees with something to drink. Bob has scheduled the referee training for Sunday, August 27th from 8-12:30. Picture Day is scheduled for September 26th.
Tryouts – (D. McDermott) There will be another set of tryouts for Club level. October 1 will be tryouts for U8 – U12.
Angelo mentioned that the AC Milan camp went well and suggested to close registration earlier so that the Italian players can attend. Angelo is waiting on the commission and deposit from AC Milan.
With no other topics to be discussed, the meeting adjourned at 8:35pm.
